Hyper-bulimic Pair Go for Seminar

SEMINAR PENOLONG PEGAWAI PERUBATAN SARAWAK
14hb - 15hb april 2012

" KEARAH MEMPERKASAKAN AMALAN DAN PROFESIONALISMA PENOLONG PEGAWAI PERUBATAN"

 VENUE: PREMIER HOTEL SIBU

OBJEKTIF

Traveling to Sibu from Sri Aman in a land cruiser is quite tedious and it normally takes a course of roughly 3 to 4 hours ride through tidal wave tar-sealed road. your gluteal muscles surely would get paraesthesic and heated up. My friend Frederick was talking and questioning a lot throughout the journey, he was actually very anxious in wanting to get as much information as possible on how to operate his newly bought apple i-pad, which was just handed over to him in a sealed box minutes before we took off. We kept on teasing him along the way thus kept boredom of riding away.

After we checked in the hotel, l brought him to roam the "pasar malam"with the intention to open his appetite to various appetizing exotic foods exhibited by entrepreneurs of various ethnics. The most wanted delicacies were such as roasted pork and boneless  pig heads, deep fried/ roasted chicken necks and many other varieties. He had expressed that he was not attracted to these delicacies, l knew he had actually encountered excessive salivation and had at least  swallowed 200 to 300 mls. of his saliva into his tummy all the way......at last l bought 2 packed food intended for our dinner,  we spent RM: 10.00 for roasted pork and another RM;10.00 for chinese sausage, "taufoo", and over Rm: 10.00 of
deep-fried gizzard and cow's internal organ. both of us engulfed all these food in about 15 minutes.

Actually, we used to be quite cautious on food selection all these while cos we are attempting to keep our Body mass Index (BMI) at standard level. However, we used to eat beyond reasonable amount every time we travel. You just can't resist the luring smell  and taste of all the exotic delicacies available in Sibu. If  you are here, you tend to be  hyper-bulimic. I would suggest to those with BMI below 20 to dump yourself at Sibu night market once a while to get yourself more "Fleshy" then. l am sure our PSM Joanne Chua would not go there to tag those delicacies before your arrival.

EAGLE'S ART WORK

EAGLE'S ART WORKS

Apart from accomplishing my daily core activities as an allied health personnel in a rural health setting, one of the most innovative thing l have been involved in throughout the course of my service, was the creation of simple art works to face-lift and light-up my work place.

My work spans from creating artistic external ambience to internal decor , with the objective to provide safe, attractive and conducive work place to suit the taste of our attending clients. Initially, my attempt was intended for fun and to fill the gaps in between accomplishment of my core responsibilities. Later l discovered that l had the potential to move on for the benefit of my institution. This ended me up to take part in various competitions to compete for the most innovative and most beautiful rural health institution in the previous years.

l used to earn special credit in each competition because most project implemented involved minimal department's financial resource and at times my department does not have to foot the bill at all. Creating something out of your own hand is always very much cost effective compare to obtaining service from commercialised vendor. In term of quality , our output may akin to those professional if we have the initiative keep up a constant pace for improvement. To all Assistant Medical Officer in the rural health setting, try it up boys!!!.

FACE-LIFTING OF KLINIK KESIHATAN MERINDUN 2012.

By:Eagle's Eye.

KK MERINDUN 1981

Klinik Kesihatan Merindun is one of the eight  rural health clinics under the jurisdiction of Lubok Antu District. The first clinic was  established  following the establishment of SALCRA-( Sarawak Land Consolidation And Rehabilitation Authority) in the year 1975,at the present locality known as Merindun. The establishment of oil palm plantation as well as the existing oil palm mill in Merindun at that period was the government's intention to  upgrade the economic status and resettle the Iban community residing along the lower third of Lemanak river to the present locality. The first to agree and to resettle in Merindun were population from Rh.Rambu, Empaling and Rh Inggol, Spelu.

The place for the first clinic manned by one Junior Hospital Assistant was provided by SALCRA. An empty partition which was part of the Fertiliser's store house was allocated for the temporary clinic. With the ascending demand for a better health care services, the present clinic was built in the year 1981 by the Health department and was then manned by one Junior Hospital Assistant, One Community nurse, one driver and one female attendant. The clinic was taken over by An Assistant Medical Officer on January,1990 and additional male attendant was also posted in the year 1993 to strenghten the work force.

Klinik Kesihatan was once a glamorous and well known rural health clinic in between 1990 and 2001. it was a model clinic for Sri Aman Division. This clinic had won several awards at state level as well as national level. It  was awarded as" the most innovative clinic"-a most remarkable award obtained during the first state competitions in 1994.

With the turn over of staffs over years since 2002, I should say the spirit of innovation, team work and initiative to maintain an institution  to be at par to a place called "Home" is at at a brink of extinction. the younger generation will not be able to answer the question of a supervisor to "Why the tradition is not inherited?" The most common answer is "that is not my job" for example to get a place well cleaned up.

Every structure is rotting away  after 10 years leaving this place!!

IS THIS STILL A SAFE PLACE TO CARRY OUT OUR ACTIVITIES?

IS IT SO DIFFICULT AND COSTLY JUST TO REMOVE THESE GROWTHS???
